Sheng Chen

 

Sheng is an Associate Professor at the State Key Laboratory of Coal Combustion, School of Energy and Power Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). Prior to joining HUST, Sheng obtained his Ph.D. in Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2019. His doctoral thesis focused on the agglomeration, migration, and deposition of microparticles in electrostatic and flow fields. It received recognition as an Excellent Ph.D. Thesis from Tsinghua University, the Outstanding Ph.D. Thesis Award from the Chinese Society of Particuology, and the Springer Nature Outstanding Thesis Award. So far, sheng has authored 40+ journal articles on J. Fluid Mech., Phys. Rev. E, Phys. Rev. Fluids, Chem. Eng. Sci., etc., and a monograph titled "Microparticle Dynamics in Electrostatic and Flow Fields," published by Springer Nature Press. Sheng has been awarded two grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and a project funded by the National Key Research and Development Program.

Mingkai Cheng

MingKai Cheng received his B.S. in Engineering from Hebei University of Technology in 2018. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate in the State Key Laboratory of Coal Combustion at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His current research focuses on the formation and control of particulate matter during Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) combustion.

Jianhong Fu

Jianhong Fu is a first-year doctoral student in the School of Energy and Power Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He earned his B.S. degree from HUST in 2019 and became a doctoral student in 2021 after passing the examination of successive postgraduate and doctoral programs of study. His current work focuses on the hydrodynamics forces and the heat transfer in homogeneous/inhomogeneous particulate systems in particle-solar receivers.

Pinzhuo Chen

Pinzhuo Chen is a second-year master student in the School of Energy and Power Engineering. He earned his B.S. in Engineering from North China Electric Power University. Currently, he is working on the migration and deposition of particles in turbulent channel flows.

Wenchao Fang

Wenchao Fang received his B.S. in Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2021. Currently, he is a master student in the State Key Laboratory of Coal Combustion at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His current research focuses on the flow and heat transfer characteristics of moving-bed heat exchangers in Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) based on solid particles.

Shuo Shi

Shuo graduated from Hohai University with a bachelor's degree in 2021. She is currently pursuing a master's degree at the State Key Laboratory of Coal Combustion, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Shuo is now modeling the heat transfer in particle packings using DEM and FEM.

Mingyu Liu

 

Mingyu received his B.S. in Engineering from Dalian University of Technology in 2021. Currently, he is a master student in the State Key Laboratory of Coal Combustion at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His current research focuses on the low NOx combustion technology in ammonia-coal mixed combustion process.

Xiaochen Zhou

 

Xiaochen received his B.C. in Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2021. Currently, he is a master student in the State Key Laboratory of Coal Combustion at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He is working on the design and optimization of photothermal reactors based on fluidization techniques.
